Micro-credential Competition – Overview
The Micro-credential category recognises projects that design, develop, or implement micro-credential programs which are short-term educational programs or courses that focus on specific skills or areas of expertise.
Participants are encouraged to create Micro-credential courses that showcase their knowledge, skills, and innovation in any field or discipline. These projects should provide learners with flexible, stackable, and verifiable learning experiences, and demonstrate how micro-credentials enhance learning outcomes, skill development, and learner recognition through technology.

Micro-credential Competition Guidelines
- All participants are required to register through the Festival Management System (FMS System) online platform for iLRF2026.
- The project can be developed either in English or Bahasa Melayu.
- Participants may join as an individual or in a group (maximum of five (5) members per group).
- Participants are allowed to submit more than one entry. Each entry must be of a different project.
- Participants are required to complete registration and make the registration fee payment for each submission before proceeding with the full project submission.
- The organiser reserves the right to reject any incomplete submissions. The incomplete submission will be informed via the FMS system.
- Accepted submissions evaluated by the judges will receive a Certificate and a Medal.
- The medal will be sent out after the iLRF2026 event concludes. All communication will occur via registered email in the FMS system.
Project Requirements
Projects must leverage technology to design, deliver, or assess micro-credential programs. Eligible innovations may include, but are not limited to:
- Micro-credential Programs: Short, focused online courses that develop specific skills or competencies in any field or discipline. Can be stackable or stand-alone.
- Assessment and Verification Tools: Innovative solutions that evaluate learner competency, track progress, or certify completion.
- Digital Badge or Certification Solutions: Platforms or systems that issue verifiable digital badges or certificates to recognise learner achievements.
- Flexible Learning Solutions: Platforms or systems that enable learners to access content anytime and anywhere through user-friendly interfaces that support self-paced learning.
- Other Technology-Enhanced Micro-credential Innovations: Any novel solution that supports skill-based learning, digital recognition, or competency tracking in line with current trends in digital education.

1. e-Poster Submission
- The e-poster must be uploaded to the iLRF2026 FMS System.

2. Video Presentation (Maximum 5 Minutes)
- The video presentation must be uploaded to YouTube and set to public or unlisted visibility.
- The presentation should address the following key aspects:
- Impact on Learners/Users: How does your project enhance learning, skill development, or professional growth?
- Innovation: What is unique or creative about your project? Which technologies or instructional strategies are used?
- Scalability: Can the project be expanded or adapted for broader implementation?
- Portability: How easily can your programme be accessed across different platforms or learning environments?
- Resource and Cost Efficiency: What resources are required, and how cost-effective is the project?
- Sustainability: How will your micro-credential be maintained or updated over time?
- Achievements (if any): Any awards, recognitions, or pilot/test results?

- The evaluation will be made by experienced judges, selected by the organiser
- The scoring criteria are as follows:
Innovative
• How innovative is the project?
• What creative ideas or solutions were applied to design, develop, or implement the micro-credential?
Usefulness and Practicality
• How useful is the product to the learners, faculty or the institutions?
• Is it practical to be used in any environment and platform?
Impact on learning
• What is the impact on learners’ knowledge, skills, or performance?
• How does it enhance teaching or instructional effectiveness?
Presentation and Q&A*
• Clarity, logical flow, and communication of the project.
• Effective use of visuals, graphics, demonstrations, and technical quality (video and audio).
• Q&A session is applicable only during Stage 2 (physical judging).
- The judges’ decision is final.
- The top 3 participants will be invited to IMU University for a physical showcase and final judging.
- Any appeals will not be entertained.

The competition will consist of two (2) rounds of judging:
- Stage 1 (Online Judging)
- Stage 2 (Physical Judging)
Stage 1 (Online Judging)
- Judging will be conducted online based on the submitted project evidence, e-poster, and video presentation.
- Judging will take place one week after the submission deadline.
- Results for the final round will be informed via email.
Stage 2 (Physical Judging)
- The top 3 participants with the highest scores from Stage 1 will be selected for the final round.
- The judges will evaluate each project by visiting the designated booths and assessing based on the provided criteria.
- Participants will have 5 minutes to present and showcase their project, followed by a 2-minute Q&A session with the judges.
- The organisers will assign a minimum number of judges.
- Participants must bring their laptop and be ready to demonstrate their micro-credential course during the showcase.

Cancellation Policy
- Any cancellation of registration must be made in writing to the Secretariat of IMU International Learning Resources Festival 2026 (iLRF2026).
- There will be a full refund of the registration fee for cancellation made by 11 May 2026.
- There will be a 50% refund of the registration fee for cancellation made before 11 June 2026.
- There will be no refund of the registration fee for cancellation made on 12 June 2026 and thereafter.
- The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or change the topic or trainer of the workshop if for whatever reasons beyond its control, the workshop cannot be held as scheduled, or the topics need to be altered.
